Tenggol Island is a small archipelago in between Redang and Tioman known for its rocky cliffs offering steep wall dives dropping down into the South China Sea. It can be reached from Kuala Dungun and is the southernmost island group of the Terengganu Marine Park. Other small islets belonging to it are Nyireh Island, Tokong Talang, Tokong Timur, Tokong Burung and Tokong Kemudi. Since it is not hard to get there, prepare for a crowded destination during the weekends and holidays.
Pulau Tenggol is a dive destination with many different types of diving. You will find excellent wall diving often drifting together with pelagic, but also shallow reefs where you can search for unknown critters while muck diving. Its underwater variety in coral and fish is enormous and you are most likely to see eagle rays, jacks, nudibranch, wrasses and fusiliers. Its white sand and clear waters also encourages photographers to visit this island.
